Pretty Little Liars is back for its winter season “bitches,” as the show’s blackmailer and chief trouble – and plot – maker “A” might say. And tonight's winter premiere has the Little Liars pretty much pitted against one another, with Rosewood High’s lesbian lady killer Emily Fields (Shay Mitchell) furthest on the margins of the group, according to Spoiler TV.
When last we saw the quorum that is Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Aria (Lucy Hale), Hanna (Ashley Benson) and Emily, they’d been hauled into the police station and interrogated --courtesy of "A's" games-- about all of the murder and what not that had been going down in Rosewood.
The season premiere will feature the fashion-forward foursome out of jail and doing community service, hence the orange jumpsuits! Let's see what Aria does to make her jumpsuit more stylish.
According to Spoiler TV, Spencer and Emily are at complete odds and not speaking. And while the mystery is certainly the driving force behind PLL’s appeal, what we really want to know is what’s in store for Emily’s love life this winter.
Pretty Little Liars producer extraordinaire Marlene King told AfterEllen this December that not only will Emily have a “badass” arc in which she proves she is not the weakest link in the group, but that she’ll also have a full-on relationship with Maya (Bianca Lawson).
“Emily definitely reconnects with Maya, and they start to have a relationship that is full of the kinds of ups and downs that happen when two people are reconnecting,” King told AfterEllen.
If it weren’t enough that Emily and Maya are ON,Lindsey Shaw will make a few appearances as Paige, the troubled swim star who had a thing for Emily and a rough time dealing with her sexuality.
“Paige has had some interesting revelations in her life, and her character has made some great strides in owning up to her sexuality. I think it's a really nice statement that we're making for Paige,” King told AE about Paige’s return.
