Director Alain Corneau’s Love Crime featured Scott Thomas as a cutthroat executive who takes credit for her young protégé’s -- Sagnier of Swimming Pool and 8 Women fame—idea. The protégé then seeks revenge on her boss. It’s kind of like Working Girl meets The Business of Strangers.

DePalma -- a master at the psycho thriller with Dressed to Kill, Sisters, Body Double, Obsession, and more recently, The Black Dahlia—seems like the perfect auteur to helm a remake of Love Crime.

There’s no word as to which of the actresses, Rapace and McAdams, who are only a year a part in age-- will play the ruthless boss and the vengeful protégé. There was a clear age difference between the characters in the French film, and while not specifically lesbian, there was palpable emotional and sexual tension between the characters.

Passion is slated to begin filming in Berlin in March 2012.
