Prepare to be scared when you listen to the queer '90s darling read a spine tingling tale!

Chuck Tingle may be best known for writing satirical gay erotic, but now he’s authored a full-length traditionally-published novel and the audiobook is going to be read by queer actor and Matilda star Mara Wilson.

Tingle began self publishing erotic fiction in 2014 and has since written countless novellas about dinosaurs and anthropomorphized inanimate objects with titles like Bigfoot Pirates Haunt My Balls, My Billionaire Triceratops Craves Gay Ass, Space Raptor Butt Invasion, and Pounded In The Butt By Another Zoon Meeting.

But for Tingle’s first foray into traditional publishing he’s written a horror novel called Camp Damascus. According to McMillian publishers the book is set in Neverton, Mont. at “the self-proclaimed ‘most effective’ gay conversion camp in the country. Here, a life free from sin awaits. But the secret behind that success is anything but holy. And they’ll scare you straight to hell.”

Wilson seems like the perfect reader for Tingle’s audiobook. Not only is the ‘90s darling adored by fans, but her experience facing an onslaught of biphobia and her years spent working as a voice actor after leaving the industry in 2000 make her the perfect candidate to be the voice of a novel about the horrors LGBTQ+ kids face.

Writing about gay conversion camps seems like a natural progression for an author who loves to use his brand of comical satire to skewer conservative politicians, anti-trans rhetoric, and bigotry of all kinds.

While the hilarious covers of his books may have you thinking they’re mindless entertainment, Tingle uses his writing not just to make you laugh but to talk about love, acceptance, and even tricky topics like consent. And we’re guessing his debut novel will be no different.

Although Tingle has become a viral sensation many times over, little is known about the intensely private writer. “Chuck Tingle” is a pseudonym and no one knows what he looks like because he only ever appears with a bag over his head.

But what we do know is that his horror novel will have LGBTQ+ representation, be critical of gay conversion camps, and will make our spines, well, tingle!
