The Media's Shock at Kristen Stewart Being Open to Dating Men Is Bi-Erasure at Its Finest
A bisexual woman said she's open to dating men? How (not) shocking!
Despite her Saturday Night Live monologue from earlier this year where she jokingly and hyperbolically stated she’s "so gay," Kristen Stewart has been pretty candid and clear regarding her bisexuality. She has been a big advocate for bi+ individuals, and in multiple interviews in 2017, she's openly discussed her bisexuality, even telling The Guardian, "You’re not confused if you’re bisexual. It’s not confusing at all. For me, it’s quite the opposite."
But as the media loves to, they blatantly erased her bisexuality. That’s why it was considered "breaking news" that Kristen (who has been linked to relationships with women for the past few years) mentioned she was "open to dating men again."
