It's Worth the Money: 13 Reasons You Need to See Beyoncé Live

We know how expensive tickets to the Formation World Tour are, but if you can figure out a way to swing it, you will not regret it. There’s no better performer than Beyoncé.

I couldn’t tell you what I was doing two weeks ago, let alone three months ago, but 10 years from now, if you asked me where I was on June 3, 2016, I wouldn’t miss a beat. I was at Gillette Stadium, in Foxborough, Massachusetts, singing my heart out. I was on the verge of tears while my two closest friends and I listened to Beyoncé's powerful, angelic voice in person.

I know times are tough, and her tickets ain’t cheap (like, not even close to being cheap). It depends which city you’re in, but it’s often tough to find tickets under 100 dollars. But she is (do I really need to say it?) very much worth it. You know that old aphorism? Spend money on experiences, and not things. Seeing Beyoncé live is the reason that saying exists.

In case you needed them, here are 13 reasons why you should see Beyoncé (and especially the Formation World Tour) live.

1. Her dancing

Not only is the choreography flawless, but you can’t help but be in awe of her stamina. She’s a powerhouse. Her show is a nonstop two hours of her dancing, singing, and performing. And her chest pops and isolations? Incredible. And she dances in water. And she twerks. And I could keep going and going, but you’re better off to just go see her live.

2. Her stride

Seeing Beyoncé strut down the stage in person is life-changing. She oozes confidence and empowerment in every step. If only we could all have her walk.

3. Her blowing hair

I don’t know how these fans work, but those mechanics deserve a goddamn medal. Her hair doesn’t stop blowing in the wind for a solid two hours.

4. Her outfits

Oh my god. They’re sexy. They’re classy. They’re over the top. They are perfect. And her heels?! 6 inch!

5. Her guitar solo

Did you know Beyoncé slays at guitar, 'cause I sure as hell didn’t. Seriously though, is there anything she can’t do?

6. The subtle homages to your other favorite musicians

I definitely heard a little bit of Kanye, D'Angelo, and Prince. And I’m pretty sure she threw in a some of the choreography from MJ’s Iconic Dangerous. There were probably even more homages to other artists that I completely missed.

7. She performs some Destiny’s Child classics

Don’t get your hopes up, since Michelle and Kelly aren’t present, but she definitely sings some good, ol' DC songs.

8. Her runs and riffs

When she sings live, her runs are out of control. She gracefully shoots up and down multiple octaves without seemingly breaking a sweat. (On a related note, she also sings a song or two a capella!0

9. The stadium is going to be sick[iframe https://giphy.com/embed/l3V0uRN3P50rTPLyg allowfullscreen="" class=^{{"giphy-embed"}}^ frameborder="0" height="262" width="480"]

No matter where you’re seeing her, the stadium is going to be huge and pretty cool in and of itself. I’m not the biggest “sports guy” out there, so I would have never had a reason to go to Gillette Stadium, but it’s actually just cool to be there with so many other fans.

10. You can make all the friends

Everyone’s in a good mood, and you’re all their to experience one thing: Queen B live. There’s a sense of camaraderie among the audience members, and you can strike up conversation with literally anyone.

11. Her backup dancers

Holy shit. Only the best for Beyoncé. Her backup dancers (which were all WOC!) slayed. They got in the tightest formation you’ve ever seen.

12. Her female bassist was bad ass

She has a female bassist who was killing it in her solo. She wore a sexy outfit, and it was the most badass thing I’ve ever seen live.

13. There’s literally not a single straight man there

Okay, that’s a lie, but as far as safe spaces for queer men, a Beyoncé concert is definitely a big one. You’d be hard pressed to find a larger gather of women, POC, and queer men in one space.
