FOX's Rent Matching Donations for World AIDS Day
The LGBTQ-favorite musical will match donations up to $20,000 today.
If you’re looking for some way to support World AIDS Day, beyond actually being cognizant of how it effects the gay community unlike some people, check out any social media page for FOX’s upcoming live production of the classic musical Rent!
The production has pledged to match all donations up to $20,000 to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, the theater community’s response to the AIDS crisis.
Rent is one of the most beloved musicals to the queer community, and has long been lauded for its portrayal of friendship and hope in the face of economical and personal turmoil, including struggling with HIV-positive status.
FOX’s version of the show will premiere on January 27, 2019 and feature Valentina of RuPaul’s Drag Race fame as Angel. You can check out the other cast announcements in the video below, after you head over to BroadwayCares to make that donation.
Rachel Kiley is presumably a writer and definitely not a terminator. She can usually be found crying over queerbaiting in the Pitch Perfect franchise or on Twitter, if not both.
