Her speech was everything!

History was made on Sunday evening during the 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards where media mogul and pop culture icon Oprah Winfrey took the stage to accept the coveted Cecil B. DeMille award. In addition to securing yet another title to her vast legacy, Winfrey is now the first black woman to receive the prestigious honor.

In a sweepingly powerful acceptance speech, Winfrey channeled all attention towards the recent #MeToo movement, spurred by the Harvey Weinstein scandal, and the decades of sexual abuse at the hands of high ranking men throughout the entertainment industry.

"For too long, women have not been heard or believed if they dared to speak their truth to the power of those men, but their time is up."

Since her impassioned remarks, social media and celebs alike have been buzzing about the once gag based 2020 Presidential run with Oprah herself heading the charge to Washington, and now contemplating the largely positive realities of this idea.

"It's up to the people,” said Winfrey’s partner, Stedman Graham, when asked about a potential bid by The Times. "She would absolutely do it."

Gayle King, longtime friend with Winfrey echoed similar sentiments: "I thought that speech was incredible. I got goosebumps."

While there has been no official word from Oprah herself as to a run for the Presidency, she has succeeded in rallying our emotions and activating our hearts for the year and continued fight against the Trump administration ahead. And with luck, perhaps we will see the name Oprah Winfrey in the ballot box come 2020.
